The things we learned in FFA…

Happy Wednesday of National FFA Week!

Never underestimate the things you learn along your path in life.  Small things may turn into a large piece of a puzzle later in life.

Steve Jobs once said, “Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow know what you truly want to become.”

The lessons learned in FFA years ago have paid dividends down the road for many members over the years.  The pursuit of an American FFA degree is no exception.  Many of you may have this already.  The lessons learned in pursuit of that goal many years ago have likely helped to shape your future, and sharpened your business skills, years before you realized it was even happening or what it was for.

Other activities, like Parliamentary Procedure, Creed Speaking, Prepared Speaking, SAE projects and more, have all helped countless agriculturalists develop skills critical to their career paths.  For those enduring those challenges today in FFA, we salute you, and encourage you to “Keep Moving Forward” as it will help you in ways you cannot even imagine.  Take that risk, try that next challenge, and let the cards play out so you can truly become what your heart and intuition want you to become.

The Importance of Agriculture in STEM

The Wisconsin FFA Foundation 2016 Annual Report features an article about Randy Clark of RCI Engineering on page 11.

We firmly believe in the importance of Agriculture and its connection to STEM.   For our local community, it is vital as it ties into everything that we do, both on the production side and with regards to the engineering and manufacturing base of the community.  The same can be said for many communities around the state and country.

We are proud to support FFA at the local and state level.  With FFA Week coming soon, consider reaching out to your local FFA chapter and offering your support.  As the discussion of expanding STEM programs comes up in your community, please step up to remind others of the importance of Agriculture and its connection to STEM.

For more information regarding the importance of Agriculture in STEM, please feel free to Contact Us or reach out to your local FFA Chapter.
